With a proven track record of over 13 years of executive experience in driving change management and leadership, Maytha Al Habsi saw the inception of Emirates Foundation in April 2005. Maytha was profiled as one of UAE’s top Inspirational leaders in 2014, and named among the ‘Top 20 Most Influential Women in the UAE’’ by The National in 2007, a board member at Emirates Entrepreneur Association and she joined the judges panel of the Shell LiveWIRE Top Ten Innovators awards in 2015 and is currently a judge with the Gulf Capital SME Awards 2017.

As a leading UAE National in the field of Philanthropy & Youth Development, Al Habsi’s expertise focuses on the creation and delivery of programmes that empower youth to develop long-life skills that will enable them to take on leadership positions in the future. She has successfully established a solid foundation for the organization’s programmes and initiatives to deliver sustainable and measurable social impact that touched the lives of thousands of young people and their families inside the UAE and beyond. In addition, she lead the establishment of a unique platform for young social entrepreneur across the GCC, the Emirates Awards for Arabian Gulf Youth, which aims to unlock the Youths creativity to solve the challenges facing society through the creation of social enterprises; and “volunteers.ae” that responds to the growing UAE volunteer community, allowing volunteers to match their skills and competencies with volunteer opportunities provided by public and private sector organization across all Emirates..

Al Habsi’s success over the past 10 years, led to her appointment as Chief Executive Officer to the Foundation. In her capacity as CEO, she will continue to focus on positioning the Foundation as a thought leader in the venture philanthropy and social investment

space across the Arab world; and strengthening its contribution to the overall vision of the UAE. She will continue to oversee the strategic development of the Emirates Foundation, supporting the scale up of its 6 core programmes and sharpening their operational performance with a focus on creating revenue opportunities to ensure their long-term viability.

Prior to joining the Emirates Foundation, Al Habsi held leading positions in the communications department of Dolphin Energy Limited and Mubadala for Development. She is a graduate of the American University of Washington DC in Graphic Design and Communications. She was accredited with certificates in management and leadership from Sandhurst University in the United Kingdom and completed the Advance Leadership and Development Executive Program at the Harvard Kennedy School in March, 2017.
