Belinda has a proven track record as an experienced sustainability professional, and is recognized as a regional thought-leader. Her key strengths are in building external partnerships and seeking and identifying opportunities to develop relationships with the purpose of creating and achieving shared value across all sectors.
She currently heads Corporate Sustainability at NBAD with responsibility for developing the Bank’s corporate sustainability strategy, reporting on progress, and acting as the sustainability adviser to NBAD’s group of businesses. She is also responsible for delivery of two Corporate Citizenship flagship programs; the Future of Energy, and the development and advocacy of SMEs.
She represents NBAD on the UAE Steering Group on Sustainable Finance, as a member of the Dubai Sustainability Network, and is an elected member of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group Facilitation & Coordination Committee.
Belinda is also a member of the recently launched Women’s Empowerment and Equality Board, an initiative spearheaded by HH Sheikha Shamma Bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. WEEB’s vision is to encourage the empowerment of all women in all aspects of life across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Belinda was a member of the team that, in 2002, set up and established the Dubai International Financial Centre, from the Executive Office of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE. During this time, she successfully brought CSR to the agenda, establishing and heading the stakeholder CSR Committees.
From 1991-1998, Belinda worked in the multicultural education service of a local government agency in UK, focusing on the establishment and implementation of community initiatives.
Belinda holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
